Without the constraints of a mandated curriculum, through a venue of writing-as-therapy young people will be able to produce drafts of written work that can be refined into potentially publishable narratives, written work that could evolve into an investigative reporting piece, and written work that will articulate an opinion that is thoroughly defended by factual sources.
